six taste

Last Sunday, I went on a Thai Town food tour led by Six Taste, a company where a few of my friends used to work for as foodie tour guides for specific locations around Los Angeles! It was a four hour long tour with around 6-8 food stops. This was my second time on the Thai Town tour but there were a few changes in the food we got to try and because of Tracy, we got employee discount prices! So all in all, purdy sweet Sunday.

Very scrumptious "Thai Tacos"

weekly sushi

Sometime last week at Urth (yes yes again) and my favorite sushi place in all of California (maybe I'm exagerating but I love this place...) Sushi-Gen! They have especially delicious sea urchin, toro and albacore- especially at 5pm because the fish seems fresher. Nom nom nom. Wait time is ridiculous though!

Some randoms from last Sunday (or was it Saturday?) shot by Nobel. Urth Caffe, strolling through my new neighborhood, and fondue at The Melting Pot.

day 3/4: san francisco

By the last few days of the convention it was getting really hard to stay put and listen to 7 hour long seminars, so we spent most of the time collecting free goodies from the convention booths. There was free beer and free sunscreen and free mugs and free sticky pads to name a few. Yay!

The last day we decided we needed to finish off our trip with oysters again, so we trekked up to North Beach by foot (which en route we saw a woman get hit by a car...) to eat at Sotto Mare.

day 2: san francisco

Basically the purpose of the entire trip.

day 1: san francisco

This past week I was in San Francisco for the Inter Solar Convention. SF is so much more snazzy than LA in many ways. Friendlier people, nicer buildings, cleaner air, awesome seafood, pedestrians being hit by cars...the list could go on. The convention itself was long. Very long. Hours of sitting and listening and endless pages of notes.

Anyways here's a glimpse of the first day- beginning with a 6 hour drive up to said destination. Butt numbage and the same CD playing over and over again, but with great company it isn't so bad!

sea creatures

This past holiday weekend was as American as it could get. But before I get to the overly American part of my 4th of July weekend, check out these little key-chain-mabobs that the office decided we should all do in order to spruce up our time cards.

Anyways! Friday consisted of a trip down to Redondo Beach for the most awesome-est seafood ever. I am now an oyster-convert and I used to hate those mushy grey blobs of mucus! And I obviously do not know how to tie on a bib.

fatty tuesdays

Today consisted of an absolutely unproductive day at work where I decided to resurrect this blog. Of course the title hints that Tuesdays are dedicated to reckless eating- which is totally misleading because everyday is reckless eating day!

So today's fatty consumption content? All you can eat Korean BBQ down at Road to Seoul & my old love Urth Caffe, all in one night. Life is scrumptious :)

sunday brunchin'

Past weekend consisted of lovely relaxing activities.

Saturday: went to the happiest place on earth where apparently you have to make reservations if you want to eat anywhere, and also juice lines are longer than lines for actual rides.

Sunday: brunching at my newest favorite food place conveniently near my new apartment! Elements Cafe- their Lobster Mac N' Cheese is soooo delish, as well as their Hibiscus Lemonade.

And now it's just a slow, slow week until the long weekend.
